Applying for the Fair Deal Scheme

The purpose of the Scheme is to provide financial support for people assessed as needing long-term nursing home care.

The scheme is founded on the core principles that long-term care should be affordable and that a person should receive the same level of State support whether they choose a public, voluntary or private nursing home. Since the 27th October 2009, the Nursing Homes Support Scheme is the single funded means of accessing long-term nursing home care for all new entrants.

How will we help you?

We will help complete all sections of the application form which includes documenting income and assets.  We will also advise on supporting documentation required from GPs, Social Workers and other medical personnel.

We will submit completed Fair Deal Application to the HSE and will follow up on queries raised and help you as required to ensure you get the maximum benefits from this scheme.

HSE & Social Welfare Benefits

Its important to make sure that all benefits continue while the client is in a nursing home, including pension, medical card, disability benefit and any other entitlements.

As part of this service, we will advise you on how best to make sure this happens and do annual checks for you going forward.
